West Hempstead's food service is provided by Whitsons Culinary Group.

Our School District participates in both School Breakfast and Lunch Programs that are open to all students in our schools. Please contact the main office of your child's school if you think you may qualify. On the left you will find a confidential application.

If your child or children currently receive free or reduced lunch, they are also entitled to free or reduced breakfast.

The West Hempstead Food Services Department is pleased to offer parents a secure, family-friendly system for online prepayments and nutrition education. enables parents to deposit money into their child's school meal plan, track item purchases, and view their child's account balance.

On the left you will find directions and frequently asked questions (FAQ's) for You will need your child's student ID number if you wish to sign up for the program. You can obtain this number from the Main Office of your child's school or by calling the Food Service Office. 

There is no charge for setting up an account. In order to use the online prepayment service, a small convenience fee of $2.49 will be assessed per deposit transaction. Parents placing money into multiple meal accounts will only be assessed the $2.49 fee once per deposit transaction. The School District does not profit from the use of this site. The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) was established to ensure that children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session.  Free meals that meet Federal nutrition guidelines are available to all children 18 years old and younger at approved SFSP sites in our area.  If you or someone you know is interested, go to or call 1-800-522-5006 to find a site and learn more about this program.
